Sunburst Peak as seen from Sunburst Lake in Assiniboine provincial park British Columbia. We rose from our tents deep in the back country shortly after 5am. It had snowed the night before and it was bitter cold outside. We hiked 3km in the dark to the lookout in the hope of some clear sky and the perfect shot. We stood around in the cold for 2 hours as the sun rose up behind us immediately blocked out by the cloud. We gave up hope and headed back down towards camp. It was on our way down that we stopped at Sunburst Lake as we saw this perfect reflection of Sunburst Peak in the water and the sky began to part. With the use of filters I was able to capture the clouds as they passed behind the peak and with the sun coming from the east it was lighting up the golden larch trees along the lake shore.
